Music With Children
Music With Children remains the flagship educational experience for Augustana's Community Conservatory of Music. An early childhood program for 4-8 year olds, Music with Children is an environment where children discover music in a natural way through games, songs, rhymes, movement and rhythm instruments.
Music with Children is a program based on the philosophies of Hungarian composer and educator, Zoltan Kodály, as well as the methods of Carl Orff.
Instructors
Charlene Brown has a bachelor of music degree with distinction from the 九秀直播. She teaches voice privately and as a sessional instructor at Augustana Campus, 九秀直播. Ms. Brown is beginning her 25th year as a Music with Children instructor.
Michelle Kennedy Hawkins holds a MA in music, an ARCT in voice and her Kodály level III. Michelle’s teaching at Augustana started in 2002 in the Keyboard Explorer program and voice area. We are delighted that she is joining the Music with Children team.
Classes offered:
- Preschool (age 4): $220/semester or $400 for both
- After-school I (Kindergarten/Grade 1): $240/semester or $420 for both
- After-school II (Grade 1/2): $240/semester or $420 for both
