Featured researcher

is an assistant professor of sociology. He specializes in decolonization, prisons, qualitative methods, nationalism and political theory. Justin is currently working on two research projects: The first is a semi-ethnographic study of Canada’s right-wing nationalist movement, which shows how right-wing groups are intimately connected to mainstream Canadian culture, challenging dominant narratives that right-wing intolerance is “un-Canadian”. For the second project, Justin is a senior researcher and project manager of the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Prison Project, a multi-year study of life experiences inside Canadian prisons. Justin is also Red River Métis and works with other staff and faculty to further develop Indigenous initiatives and programming at Augustana.
