Featured Researcher

Priscilla Adebanji, a computing science student at Augustana Campus, spent her summer experimenting with AI to improve the analysis of a U of A research video showing red-winged blackbirds and their nests. Her research, once fully implemented, will save hours of time by eliminating the need to manually review the video to identify specific birds. “It’s a big step up for saving time,” says Adebanji. “We have gone from eight hours to a couple of minutes to automatically detect everything. It feels good to work on a real-world application, to be able to help people with the knowledge I’ve learned."
