Rural Funding
These scholarships support students with a focus on rural medicine:
This scholarship honors Dr. Michael Tarrant, a family Calgary physician who championed rural medical education. He worked for better rural practices for ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥'s future physicians. It is awarded annually to a ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ or University of Calgary medical student in their third year who demonstrates an interest in rural medicine.
The Northern ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Development Council provides up to $12,000 over to the course of two years for medical students in their last two years of study who wish to work up in northern ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥.
RhPAP offers up to two awards of $5,000 each to first- and second-year medical students who demonstrate a strong interest in and commitment to rural practice.
