A periodontist is a dentist specialist in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal diseases, the management of oral inflammation, and the placement of dental implants.

Our thesis-based Master of Science (MSc) Periodontology program offers extensive, cutting-edge training in these areas. You will gain expertise in both classic and the latest techniques for diagnosing and treating periodontal disease, alongside training in performing cosmetic periodontal procedures. Residents in this program will treat complex and advanced periodontal cases, including those involving patients with a complex medical history. Furthermore, residents will be specially trained in the placement and repair of dental implants and bone-related surgeries.

Upon completion of the program, you will possess the necessary knowledge to challenge both the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC) Fellowship national specialty examination and the American Board of Periodontology examination.
