To the Foundations in Occupational Medicine Class of 2025:

You're Invited to the 2025 OEMAC Annual Scientific Conference!

OEMAC Annual Scientific Conference

Welcome to Occupational Medicine!

In taking the Foundations Course and the CBOM exam, you’ve taken a pivotal step in your career – one that will give you the knowledge and expertise to work in countless industries with the most exciting colleagues!

As you’ve already learned, networking and continuing medical education are fundamental in the field of Occupational Medicine. A great way to connect in both areas is by attending the Annual Scientific Conference hosted by the Occupational & Environmental Association of Canada (OEMAC) and the Canadian Board of Occupational Medicine (CBOM). This year, the conference will take place at the Westin Airport Hotel in Mississauga, Ontario, on October 5-7, 2025. The conference theme is Evidence, Collaboration, Impact: The Future of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. We will have learning sessions on worker physical and mental health, medico-legal cases, collaborative engagement with employers and unions, and the impact of environmental damage on human health. New topics to highlight this year include supporting neurodiverse workers and navigating intimate partner violence in the workplace. And we would be remiss if we didn’t mention the hugely popular site tours that take place every year – these will be happening on the afternoon of October 6. This is a fantastic chance to tour some truly interesting workplaces in the GTA!

As co-chairs of the OEMAC conference organizing committee, we want to personally invite you to attend the Annual Scientific Conference and experience what this medical community has to offer. In particular, we encourage you to attend the Mentorship Breakfast on the morning of October 7. This is a fun and interactive time where newly minted Occ Med physicians can casually chat with experienced colleagues and leaders about anything related to this field of work. It was a highly rated activity at last year’s conference, so do take advantage of the opportunity to network with your peers this year!

along with your on-site hotel stay.

We look forward to seeing you at our grand event in October!

With excitement,

Dr. Sonya Malone and Dr. Michel Schofield,
Co-chairs, 2025 OEMAC Annual Scientific Conference Organizing Committee
