Clinical Academic Colleagues

The appointment to a clinical academic rank confers the privilege and responsibility of being a teacher for the ��ֱ��. Clinical academic colleagues are encouraged to indicate their academic rank in correspondence and on their professional letterheads. The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology values our relationships with clinical colleagues, and recognizes the indispensable contribution they make to our academic mission. These contributions are made primarily through teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students, but also through clinical research, administration, and service to the profession.

The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry has several resources available to clinical colleagues, including information on promotions and appointments, faculty development, and the annual report form.

The ��ֱ�� offers benefits to clinical colleagues such as eligibility for promotion through the clinical academic ranks, a campus computing ID (CCID), and ��ֱ�� ONEcard.

Over 100 dedicated clinicians provide our undergraduate students and residents with high calibre training and mentorship and play an integral role in educating future physicians. Clinical faculty members are practicing physicians in local communities and work on the front lines of ��ֱ��'s health care system.

Our department's clinical faculty supervise and mentor third- and fourth-year medical students and postgraduate trainees who are learning in hospitals, clinics or doctors' offices. As part of our zone leadership role with ��ֱ�� Health Services, the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology has partnered with clinical faculty in several hospitals in the greater Edmonton area and select clinics throughout central ��ֱ��.
