General Information

As an annual event, the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ will be hosting the “DRIvE Days in Laboratory Services & Pathology” on April 25 & 26, 2025.  DRIvE stands for Discovery, Research, InnoVation and Education.  During DRIvE days, we will share our translational research and innovation with all individuals interested in Laboratory Services, Pathology and Diagnostics.  In addition, numerous educational sessions and lectures presenting state-of-the-art knowledge in laboratory services will be provided for Medical Laboratory Technologists, Laboratory Scientists, Laboratory Management, Physicians, and Trainees from across ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥.  

At past events we were able to welcome more than 300 participants during DRIvE Days. There will be keynote lectures by invited speakers as well as a broad spectrum of professional development and learning sessions across the spectrum of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.

The event will again include an HLA workshop held on April 25, 2025. Topics will include updates on molecular profiles of rejection, non-HLA antibody testing, platelet allo-antibody testing, case studies, and more.

Dr. John W. Macgregor & Dr. R.E. Bell Memorial Lectures

In addition to the sessions, two departmental lectures are featured during our DRIvE days. The Dr. J. W. Macgregor Memorial Lecture will be held on Friday April 25, 2025. It is a tribute to Dr. Macgregor who was appointed as Chairman of the Department of Pathology in 1951 and held that position for 19 years until his retirement in 1970.

The Dr. R.E. Bell Memorial Lecture will be presented on Saturday, April 26, 2025. It is a tribute to Dr. Bell who founded ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥'s first Department of Laboratory Medicine at the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Hospital and established academic training programs in laboratory medicine and medical technology.
