The Office of Education in the College of Health Sciences works collaboratively with Faculties to develop, enhance and amplify interdisciplinary learning opportunities for Health Sciences students. In selected situations, the College of Health Sciences will lead the delivery of learning opportunities (e.g., Health Simulation). The Office of Education coordinates the administration of timetabling and course scheduling, academic integrity and discipline and placement agreements and documents.
The development of interdisciplinary learning opportunities will draw on the expertise of faculty and staff across the College. It is designed to benefit and enhance the learning opportunities for students and enhance the academic experience through the provision of common administrative tasks, and to facilitate and promote interdisciplinary work in the College of Health Sciences.

Academic Integrity + Discipline
The Academic Integrity and Discipline Coordinators provide administrative support to the faculties and programs in academic misconduct cases under the and grade appeals.

Placement Administration
The Placement Administration Team works closely with the CHS faculties and programs to assist with placement requirements, including Student Placement Agreements (SPAs), collecting and reviewing placement or practicum documents.

Timetabling + Course Scheduling
The Timetabling and course scheduling portfolio works closely with the faculties and programs to schedule courses and exams. Staff also assist in classroom booking and room change requests as well as academic calendar changes.

Leadership
Associate Dean, Education

is a pharmacist, clinical professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and currently serves as director of the PharmD for Practicing Pharmacists program. She brings more than two decades of leadership in developing and evaluating professional education programs across undergraduate, post-professional and continuing education. As former associate dean, undergraduate programs, she oversaw key milestones in the Faculty, including the approval of two doctor of pharmacy degrees and major curriculum renewal.
With a PhD in educational policy studies and information studies, Dr. Schindel’s academic work spans health professions education, interprofessional learning and the integration of real-world practice into teaching. She has worked extensively with faculty, staff and external partners to create responsive, practice-informed education and is recognized for her collaborative, student-focused approach.

U of A for Tomorrow
The Office of Education has been established under the new operating model governed by the U of A Strategic Plan “ The ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ for Tomorrow: One University.” The Office of Education in each college is envisioned to “offer a coordinated approach to enrolment planning, recruitment, program administration and interdisciplinary program offerings for both graduate and undergraduate students, acting as a conduit for collaboration with centers of expertise and partner networks designed to support these functions across the entire institution.
