Clinical Services at the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ supports professional development and research by providing graduate students with quality training experience in the areas of counselling and psychological assessment. Clinical Services at the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ is committed to the community at large through the provision of low-cost services to the general public.
About clinical services
Clinical Services is a training ground for graduate psychology students and a provider of affordable psychological services for the community. We cater to individuals across all age groups, including the university community and the general public. Interested individuals can self-refer through our online forms.
Important notes:
- We're not a walk-in facility. We do not offer crisis or emergency services. All sessions are strictly by appointment.
- Cases outside our students' training scope will be redirected to a better-suited professional or agency.
- Confidentiality is paramount. We strictly adhere to guidelines set by the College of ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Psychologists and the Canadian Psychological Association.
- For child clients, consent from all legal guardians or parents is mandatory.

Counselling
Director
The Counselling Centre accepts referrals for individual, couple and career counselling for adults, and family therapy and play therapy for children. The Counselling Centre provides specialized services for a wide range of issues and clientele, spanning preschool to the elderly.
Referrals
Referrals are accepted from any source. Counselling services are normally not available between May and August.
Psychological Assessments
Director
The School and Clinical Child Psychology Centre offers comprehensive assessments covering educational, psychological, career, and personality facets. The SCCP Centre caters to clients aged six and beyond. We provide comprehensive reports and debriefing sessions following each assessment.
Referrals
We welcome referrals from all sources. Our assessment schedule begins in mid-October and concludes in April. Please note that we do not offer assessments from May to September.
Please note we are not accepting assessment referrals for children or adults at this time.
The self-referral form will be posted on this page when we are able to take new referrals.
Although we are not accepting new adult clients for the above services, many fantastic Clinicians in ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ are! Please visit the Directory to search for a psychologist in your area.
Clinic Fees
Assessment: $750 per assessment
Counselling: $30 per session
Counselling for Post-Secondary Students: $15 per session
Effective September 1, 2024
These costs continue to represent the lowest available costs in the city, and are substantially lower than professional rates.
We offer sliding scale fees for clients facing significant financial barriers.
Insurance + Receipts
Our services are provided by Student Clinicians, who are supervised by registered Psychologists. Please note that many insurance providers do not include coverage for services provided by student clinicians. Therefore, as the policyholder, it is incumbent upon you to reach out to your insurance provider prior to accessing our services to determine if they cover the cost of your psychoeducational assessment and to understand the procedure for claiming reimbursement.
NOTE
- Clinical Services is not able to offer direct billing to third parties. Upon payment of services, you will receive an itemized billing receipt.
- Clinical Services cannot provide clients with the name of the supervising Psychologist, nor their licence number for counselling services.

Edmonton cross-specialty psychology residency consortium (ECPRC)
The Edmonton Cross-Specialty Psychology Residency Consortium (ECPRC) offers a CPA-Accredited cross-specialty psychology residency training program. Our main areas of training focus on clinical and counselling psychology across the lifespan, including specialized training in interventions, formal assessment, and health psychology.
