Certificate Pathway
A Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies (GCES) or Graduate Certificate in School Leadership (GCSL) from the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ provides students with up to 12 credits in advanced standing in the MES program. The different options are outlined below:

MES STEM Ladder
The MES STEM Ladder is for students who have completed one of the following Graduate Certificates in Educational Studies from the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥:
- Mathematics Education
- Science Education
- Technology in Education
MES Structured Literacy and Reading Science Ladder
This Ladder is for students who have completed a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies in Structured Literacy and Reading Science from the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥.
Other Laddering Options
The GCES and GCSL may also ladder into the M.Ed. in Elementary Education, Curriculum and Pedagogy, or Secondary Education - contact Dr. William Dunn at wdunn@ualberta.ca. Online and on-campus options available.
