The recognizes the exceptional service of individuals to the nephrology community. This award recognizes a clinical nephrologist who consistently achieves high standards in the practice of nephrology, is a role model for peers, and facilitates the mission of the Canadian Society of Nephrology (CSN). 

Dr. Kailash Jindal

Professor, Division of Nephrology

The 2025 CSN honour recognizes Dr. Jindal's visionary leadership and lifelong dedication to advancing kidney care across Canada. From pioneering dialysis programs and expanding services in rural and Indigenous communities, to mentoring future leaders and transforming healthcare delivery through innovation, his contributions have left a lasting legacy on Canadian nephrology.

Dr. Jindal has been a key leader in nephrology in Northern ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥. He has held the roles of Regional Clinical Director of the Northern ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Renal Program, as well as the Division Director and Clinical Service Chief of the Division of Nephrology with the Department of Medicine. He had focused on advancing the program into one of Canada’s leading renal care networks, emphasizing excellence in patient care, education, and clinical research.

His current clinical practice spans general and rural nephrology, diabetic renal disease, and all modalities of dialysis and transplantation. He remains highly active in postgraduate education, particularly in dialysis training.

Dr. Jindal's research focuses on diabetic renal disease, innovative models of chronic kidney care, and optimization of dialysis delivery, including membrane function and vascular access. He also contributes nationally to clinical practice guidelines, especially in hemodialysis and vascular access.
