13th Chinese Internet Research Conference

On 27-28 May 2015, the China Institute will host the Chinese Internet Research Conference (CIRC) at the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ in Edmonton. This annual gathering of the world's top researchers on the social, political, cultural, and economic effects of the Internet in China - held at several distinguished universities in the past - will meet for the first time ever in Canada this year. Conference themes pertain to the topics of "(Un)civil society" and "Chinese Internet or Internet in China?" Co-organizers of CIRC, Ashley Esarey (¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥, Political Science) and Min Jiang (University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Communication) intend to publish research presented at the conference in a special issue of the International Journal of Communication.
