Held on June 19 in Dinwoodie Lounge, the Faculty of Native Studies’ annual Indigenous Peoples and Pride celebration featured performers and artists from the local and campus community. Inspired by this year’s theme, Two-Spirit Pride: A Celebration of Culture and Community, speakers and performers shared personal stories that spoke to the myriad of experiences within the Indigenous-queer-kin community.

“This event is more than a celebration," explains FNS program coordinator Danni Okemaw. "It’s a recognition of who we are as Indigenous people, and a space to honour the beauty, strength and love of our Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ relatives."

FNS students and MCs Aurora DuBois-Oka and Gracie Bonaise kept the event moving along.
