Professor Emerita Sarah Carter (Department of History, Classics, and Religion and Faculty of Native Studies) is the inaugural recipient of the Canadian Historical Association’s François-Xavier Garneau Prize. The François-Xavier Garneau Prize is a career prize awarded to an individual who has made a sustained and exceptional contribution to the discipline of history.
Associate Professor Crystal Gail Fraser (Department of History, Classics, and Religion and Faculty of Native Studies) is the 2025 recipient of the Canadian Historical Association’s Clio Award for Best Book on the Canadian North and Best (English-Language) Scholarly Book in Canadian History Prize for . The honour the best books in regional history and individuals or historical societies who have made significant contributions to local and regional history.
