The Steadward Centre in collaboration with The Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation at The ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥, Mount Royal University, and Calgary Adapted Hub powered by Jumpstart are proud to host the 2026 ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Adapted Physical Activity Summit. For 2026, the summit will be held on campus at the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥.
This multidisciplinary gathering aims to foster community and enhance inclusivity of physical activity and sport across the province, for all ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ns experiencing disability. Our theme for 2026 is "Advocacy, Access, Action: Moving Forward Together"- with the goal to energize action for adapted physical activity across communities in ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ through connection and collaboration. The AAPA Summit invites researchers, professionals, students, and community members to join us in learning and action.
Originating in 2013, each gathering of the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Adapted Physical Activity community creates opportunities to showcase the innovation and expertise of ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥'s professionals, researchers, community-based practitioners, leaders, advocates, students and athletes through presentations, workshops, information sharing, panel discussions and applied sessions.
